We found this out when our computer laptop hard drive decided to call it a day. Luckily we realised before it went fully bang so were able to save some stuff
The newer software is called Espresso, not the coffee ... although you do need several rather strong ones with an added addition or two in order to steel your nerves to get it running. There are several companies that sell this software so shop around and get the best deal for you.
Company 1
I purchased what we thought was a damaged download file (NEVER PAY BY BANK TRANSFER ... USE YOUR DEBIT CARD!!).
Unfortunately, the company refused to offer any help whatsoever unless we paid for "technical help at £xx.xx" and don't forget the VAT on top
The data cable must be coming by snail mail, literally. It still hasn't got here. No good if we were actually needing it urgently
Company 2
Explained what had happened regarding company 1 and noted the FREE technical help (big plus!)
Paid for software and leads etc. Package duly arrived the next day.
What they don't mention is that the CD in the package is actually the drivers for various tills and not the software
A quick email later and the software arrived in a download link
Again ... strong coffee, much swearing and a several emails replies saying check permissions, and a new download link later
. . We got the software to start running
What both companies failed to say was this
When you download the setup.exe file, right click on it and then click Run as Administrator
