Salty (Saltie, Salt And Vinegar)
Height: 15.2hh
Colour: Chestnut
Sex: Gelding
Description:
I am looking for a horse I owned 2 years ago. He was a chestnut gelding, 15.2hh, racing name was Salt and Vinegar and was called Salty / Saltie for short. The top photo is Salty in Summer and the bottom one is him in winter. 100% ground manners but sometimes chewed the fence. Also had Arthritis in his back legs and was on Bute. His Freeze Mark is EY98 and he was 17 years old in April. He was ridden and went with tack, but should only really be ridden in walk and trot as bucked in canter sometimes which I felt was him unhappy / in pain.
He was given free to a lady near the Basingstoke area as a companion for her young horse. When I phoned the next day to see how he settled in, she said the young horse did not get on with Salty so she gave him away to a friend down the road. I asked for the new owners phone number and she said she would phone me back with details (also I said I would have took him back and was very upset). I phoned again and again and she no longer picked up the phone to me.
He hated being in a stable and got stressed so would box walk and lose weight. I tried to always keep him out in winter, good to keep him walking as he had operation in his back legs which is said about in his passport. I am just worried he is not getting looked after right.
Any Information would be great good / bad
