Jasper, 14hh, piebald gelding

Post by annz »

I am trying to trace some history for my 17 year old cob called Jasper.

I have had him for 11 years and know that he was bought as a foal from Beeston sales in Nottingham and was a very sickly foal. He was broken by the lady who purchased him and apparently spent some time at a Riding School, again I believe in the Nottingham area. There is a lack of information then until he was bought by his previous owners in from the Harrogate area. I bought him from a yard in Helme near Huddersfield.

He is a very difficult Pony and has obviously had some issues in his life. He is very dominant and exhibits Stallion behaviour. I do know that he was cut quite late.
He suffers from claustophobia and can only be stabled for a short time before he kicks the door and tries to get his front feet over. He does, however do something which may ring alarm bells with anyone who has come accross him before. He always circles anticlockwise as soon as a saddle is placed on his back, especially when he is tacked up inside.
Any information on him, would be appreciated.
