Hi,
I'm trying to find my old pony Blondie, she is a New forest X and between 13:2-14:hh liver chestnut mare with a flaxen mane and tail, and would be around 30 years old now. The only distinguishing marks was a round white patch of hair on her right side just under where the saddle would sit and she had a star on her forehead that went into a stripe.
I use to keep her at Pound farm in Blackthorn, Oxfordshire and in 1989/1990 when she was about 8/9 sold her to a family that had a 11/12 year old daughter that lived in Gawcott Buckinghamshire. I use to regularly compete Blondie in local show jumping competitions which she absolutely loved and we won numerous competitions. A few months after her new owners purchased her, they contacted my parents to inform them that Blondie had bolted with their daughter, and from what I can remember their vet thought she had sustained an injury to her neck. Bolting was way out of character for Blondie, in the 3 years that I had owned her she had never once tanked off with me, we would ride out for hours with no problems.
The only problem I remember Blondie having was that she was really difficult to load, but this only seemed to occur if loading into a trailer, she never seemed to mind too much if it was a horse box.
I really really want to find her, i would buy her back in a heart beat if she is still alive, if you think she looks familiar, please do get in contact with me.
Many thanks
Charlotte Wilson

Re: Looking for Blondie, 13:2 to 14hh Liver Chestnut Mare
A little update: I spoke to the people my parent sold her too, and they gave her to a lady called Nicky Powell who drives for Claytons haulage in Bicester, from what I understand she then sold her to a riding school in South Wales in about 1991, my search continues......
