Local Police Investigate Theft of Harness Racing Equipment.

Local Police Investigate Theft of Harness Racing Equipment.

Police officers are investigating after more than £1000 worth of harness racing equipment was stolen in Herefordshire.
The theft occurred near Leominster sometime between 6.30pm on Saturday 28 July and 9.30am on Sunday 29 July.
Sometime overnight it appears that thieves approached a secure barn that is located just off the A49 by firstly cutting the padlock off a gate that accesses the lane that leads to it.
The thieves then cut a padlock off the door to the barn and went inside to search it.
A police spokesman said:
"Having accessed the barn the thieves then stole several items of equipment that are used to train horses for harness or trotting racing.
"Among the items stolen were two ‘custom made' horse jog carts - one orange and one blue - worth around £1400 and a number of knee pads and tendon straps worth more than £250.
"Many of the stolen items were secured with chains within the barn and the thieves cut the chains to allow them to take them.
"Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have information about this theft and are especially keen to hear from anyone who may know where the stolen items can now be found.
"Anyone who has information about this theft is asked to call West Mercia Police on 0300 333 3000, quoting reference number 212S 290712.
