1. MISSING TERRIER

Jessie, an 11 year old white/tan Jack Russell went missing whilst on a walk near Pangbourne on 13th August. She is chipped and was last seen in the Bere Court area. If there are any sightings or information please contact 07801644167 or 07801097227.

2. RURAL CRIME

The NFU Mutual Rural Crime Survey results for 2013say that nationally, rural crime is on the rise at 5.2%.

However according to the NF in the Thames Valley, we are seeing a 19% decrease, bucking the trend! The NFU Mutual have partly put this down to TVP’s rural crime initiatives as well as partnership work with farmers and other agencies such as Dogwatch.

3. FUNDING

I am pleased to announce we have received a grant from the Police and Crime Commissioner's Property Act Fund. This will pay for the mailchimp and text alert service that, to date, has been funded privately. I'd like to thank the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable for making this grant to Dogwatch.

1. WARNING TO HORSE AND DOG OWNERS

A 4 month old puppy was seen at a veterinary practice this morning with sudden onset blindness. It turns out that she had probably licked from a bucket containing ivermectin horse wormer. Obviously the strength of the wormer means even a small amount can be a toxic dose for a small puppy. Please take care with your horse wormers, and wash out any buckets straight after you have administered any medication. Keep your dogs away from horse feed with medication in, and hopefully we can avoid this happening again.

2. TICKS

Following reports that incidents of tick bites have been high this year, we recommend Members know what to look for and how to protect family and pets.

The people conducting this activity may well be involved in other crimes including dog theft so please report them. Ideally, get car registration numbers, descriptions of occupanyts etc. If you don't want to report the information to the police then please pass the information on to me and I will get it passed on. Time is of the essence when trying to catch these people so please act as quickly as you can. Thank you.
