BARN BURGLARY

Location - Weston on the Green, Thames Valley
Overnight on Thursday – Friday 8th May offenders gained entry to a barn at Weston On The Green, and stole a large amount of tools.
Please remain extra vigilant in this area.
If you saw anything suspicious or have any information that may help with police enquiries please telephone Bicester Rural Neighbourhood Police Team on 101.

TACK ROOM BURGLARY

Location - Eversley, Thames Valley

A burglary occured last night (19/20 May) where offenders broke into a tack room in Eversley, Thames Valley and stole bridles and 5 saddles. The offenders used two wheelbarrows to remove the items and push them across the fields.

STOLEN GUNS

Location - Great Horwood, Thames Valley

On Thursday 14 May (between 9.55pm and midnight) four men broke into premises in Great Horwood and stole a Land Rover Discovery.
Approximately 90 minutes later the offenders returned and used the Land Rover to force open the metal shutters of an outbuilding.
They then stole two long barrelled air rifles and 10 airsoft BB guns.

STOLEN TRACTORS

Location - North Buckinghamshire
Overnight on Sunday 17 - Monday 18 May a New Holland tractor and loader was stolen from a location in North Buckinghamshire.
A Fiat tractor and topper was also stolen but later recovered from a ditch.
An attempt was also made to steal a JCB loader.
It was noted that an X registered white Iveco van was seen to be visiting farms in the area this morning, and may be connected.

1. THE RIDGEWAY

It has become apparent that individuals are using the Ridgeway to gain vehicular access into the area to conduct criminal activity. The use of vehicles on the Ridgeway in Oxfordshire is prohibited. If you see a vehicle using the Ridgeway in Oxfordshire, or elsewhere in the area if you have any suspicions about it, please report the sighting to the police on the non-emergency number 101. Please gove details of the vehicle and its occupants and quote URN 731 of 13th May 2015 which has been created by Thames Valley Police to combat this problem and other incidents of an Anti-Social or Health and Safety nature on the Ridgeway.

FUEL THEFTS

Location - Oxfordshire
Over the last few weeks there has been an increase in theft of fuel from industrial sites in the Oxfordshire Area.
Thefts have been from storage tanks as well as vehicle tanks.
At recent offences a blue transit van and a white long wheel based van have been sighted.

1. HARE COURSING

On Sunday 31st May 11 people were involved in a hare coursing incident in the Milton area. They were seen driving over crops whilst chasing hares in two vehicles, both Hyundai Santa Fes. One is gold with black back windows registration FH51 F## and the other is black with no VRN reported. olice are aware of this incident.

2. THE RIDGEWAY

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information from farmers, landowners and other members of the public who use the Ridgeway between Streatley and Faringdon.
To assist with the prevention of fly tipping and anti-social use of vehicles along the Ridgeway, please can you report any sightings of these incidents to police as soon as possible?
If you have any information please contact the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre via the 24 hour non-emergency telephone number 101.Please try to provide vehicle details, including colour, make/model, registration number and a description of any occupants if possible, thank you.
Please quote: URN 731 of 13/05 when reporting information.

1. THEFTS

A warning for farmers, land owners, stables and horse owners that we have had two reports of stables being broken into and tack and stable equipment being stolen in the last few days in the West Berkshire area.
The first incident took place in the Sheepdove area of Lambourn overnight 30/06 – 01/07, when stables and the feed house were broken into.
The second incident took place in Yattendon Road, Yattendon overnight 01/07 – 02/07 where tack and riding equipment were stolen.

STOLEN TACK

Location - Old Windsor, Thames Valley
Overnight on Tuesday 21 to Wednesday 22 July 2015 a number of tack items were stolen from a yard in the Old Windsor area near Crimp Hill.
The stolen items were a black Sue Carson velocity jumping saddle and a black Sue Carson harmony dressage saddle. A set of clippers, a strimmer and a leaf blower were also taken.

2. RURAL CRIME

Mickey Smith, who many of you will know from previous Dogwatch Alerts, has been sentenced to a total of 30 months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation, one count of burglary and one of theft. The offences took place in Midgham, Wantage, Reading, Caversham, Sonning Common, Farnborough, Wokingham, Mortimer and Swindon across two years and involved 13 different properties.

1. MESSAGE FOR HORSE OWNERS

A new Thames Valley Horsewatch website can be found at http://www.thamesvalleyhorsewatch.org.uk/
The site provides crime prevention advice, a link for requesting newly designed Horsewatch packs (which includes a crime prevention advice leaflet and a handy inventory booklet for you to list your equestrian property), Horsewatch yard signs and “Stop me in the hours of darkness” stickers for you vehicles. You can also download the inventory sheet from the website so you can make an electronic copy on your computer or print more off at home. The new website also allows people to register as a Horsewatch member so please share with your friends, the more people they have as members the more effective they can be.

Combating Rural Crime

1. TEXT NUMBER

DOGWATCH can now be contacted, in an emergency, via text. Please send your message to 07425 555653. Please save this number on your telephones. Once received, your message will be sent out on the email alert system to over 2200 people, mainly in the rural community, in the Thames Valley Police area. Please use this service to report criminal activity such has hare coursing when you see it so we can get the message out as fast as possible and let others know so they can keep one eye open.
When reporting hare coursing, or any activity involving vehicles, please try and get an accurate registration number of the vehicle in question.
