trying to trace my mares offspring

Post by gracie1994 »

Hi, I have a 20 year old Hanovarian mare, passport name Walesa, her sire is Wanderbursch II, dam Annika. She was imported from Germany (unsure of date). I know she must have been down in the Kent area at some point due to vaccination stamps on her passport (passport number DE 331312503894) but I have no knowledge of previous owners apart from the person I got her from last year. I would love to know more about her history.

I contacted the hannovarian society in Germany and they have supplied me with some details of the foals she has produced:

Colt- passport number DE 331312506899 ,, DOB 05.03.1999, sire Falenstern II

Willaya La Luna - filly- passport number DE 431312505400 ,, DOB 23.04.2000, sire Wolkentanz
Wait and See - filly- passport number DE 431312510901 ,, DOB 05.04.2001, sire Wolkentanz
Wesir Nuraeddin - colt- passport number DE 431312508202 ,, DOB 17.04.2002, sire Wolkentanz
Whitsunday - filly-passport number DE 431317214205 ,, DOB 10.05.2005, sire Wolkentanz

it would be great to find out their names! I think I may have found out the filly's name born in 2005, think it's "Wait and See" just by googling my mares name and it was fascinating to watch a You Tube video of her.

any information would be fantastic, either about my mare, who we call Grace, or any of her offspring. thanks in advance

I'm baffled with the 2005 filly name.
The only thing I can think of is that she's been named "Whitsunday" first, then exported/sold to the USA and competed under the name of "Wait and See" with Nina Hatcher in september 2010.
Then exported/sold back to Germany ? and is now competing under her original name of "Whitsunday" may 2011 to aug 2012

Hmm, very strange indeed.

I am also very baffled, I contacted River House Hanoverians USA back in May and got this reply:
"Sorry Justine, I have Wait and See AKA Willa, but she came to us late in life and I know nothing about her mom. Willa was evented and we have schooled her to third level dressage but the reason we got her was to cross with our fabulous Bretone (Brentano 11/Salut.) Unfortuantely she is not a breeder so we will sell her. She was third in the country in her year if the mare performance test for Hanoverians. She is drop dead beautiful with great gaits and a fancy and scopey jump. We are VERY disappointed not to get her in foal but have given up after three seasons. Best, Jeanie Hahn"

so it seems that at least until May 2013 Wait and See was still in the states

just found a you tube video of Wait and See, states she is 8 in 2009 so would make her the 2001 filly not the 2005 filly, sorry for the confusion......
just one more to go the millenium baby!

Ahh, that makes sense.
It was her "USDF Life Registration as of 8/13/2005" which was getting me mixed up, united states dressage federation not her date of birth, DOH, silly me

And the 1999 colt to find.

Edit - 14:44pm

Stumped on 1999 colt, could his passport number be meant to start with a 4 like the rest of them ? or maybe it is a 3 due to different stallion as sire ?

Only thing I could suggest at the moment is to contact Stud where stallion is and see if they could help ?

I've added the names in red to your first post above
