Farm Watcher UK

BARN BREAK-IN

Location - Midgham, Berkshire

At around 22.50 on the Saturday 22 August a resident in Cabinswood Lane, Midgham, Berkshire heard an alarm going off. On investigation it was found that a nearby barn had been broken into and a chipper had been stolen.

If you have any information about this incident or see anyone acting in a suspicious manner contact the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101. If a crime is in progress dial 999.

Farm Watcher UK - 5 Sept 2014

STOLEN TOOLS

Location - West Isley
Between the 3rd and 4th September offenders have gained entry to an outbuilding on a farm in Main Street, West Ilsley and stolen tools from a box attached to the outside of one of the tractors.

Another farm in West Ilsley reported that damage had been caused to crops after an offender(s) drove over the land.

Combating Rural Crime

1. THEFTS FROM EQUESTRIAN PROPERTIES

There have been two burglaries to equestrian properties on the evening of 15th August 2015.

The first offence occurred at a farm in Stanford Dingley, Reading, Berkshire around 0400hrs.
The farm has been accessed by cutting a fence from adjoining farms and driven across the fields.
Attempts were made to access the tack room but were unsuccessful, other rooms and the horse medicine cabinet were accessed but nothing appears to have been taken.
The police crime number is 43150231140.

The second offence occurred at a yard in Upper Lambourn, Hungerford, Berkshire between 2300hrs of 14/8/15 and 0600hrs on 15/8/15.
Offenders drove onto the property and have taken a number of horse rugs from the stables as well as equestrian medication (x200 ACP sedative tablets, iron supplements and x30 Phenylbutazone sachets).
The police crime number is 43150231202.

Stolen Leyland DAF Horsebox
Area = Berkshire

Overnight on Monday 21st September 2015 a horsebox was stolen from a farm on Gatehampton Road, Goring, Reading, Berkshire.

The offenders have entered the yard by cutting the farms field fencing as well as the fencing of neighbouring fields. They have then driven the lorry out through these fields.

The vehicle is a red 7.5 tonne Leyland DAF 45, registration number V726 HEB.

If you were in this area on this evening and think you may have seen something that could help with enquiries pleased contact the police 101.

2. STOLEN HORSEBOX

The horsebox reported stolen in Alerts 1085 and 1086 has been found burnt out on the Ridgeway near Aldworth. However, the 'box' part of the lorry, where the horses go, had been removed prior to the lorry being destroyed. Please keep an eye out for the box, photographs are on Alert 1086.

Combating Rural Crime

1. MESSAGE FOR HORSE OWNERS

There has been an increase in the theft of horse medication and tack recently. The latest incidents occurred between the 22nd and 25th January when three stables were broken into one in Ermin Street and two in unnamed roads, one close to Ermin Street and the other one in Eastbury (West Berkshire). The locks were forced on the tack rooms and in one instance some horse medication was stolen.

Please can you pass this information on to any neighbouring farms/stables and remain vigilant and report any suspicious persons by calling the 24-hour non-emergency number on 101 or if a crime is in progress dial 999.

During the evening of Friday 20th May 2016 there were a number of offences at stable premises.
A stable yard in Sheepdrove, Lambourn, Hungerford, Berkshire had the security doors forced open and equine medication and syringes had been taken. CCTV from the yard shows a dark coloured, 3 door Ford Focus, possibly on a 2000-2003 plate. If you see a similar vehicle at your yard please record details and share with us on our non emergency number (101) and quote crime reference number 43160138590.

Another yard on the same evening in Dunsden, Reading, Berkshire had a generator, a bright yellow Galagher electric fence unit and a quantity of tools stolen. If you have any information call us on 101 quoting crime reference number 43160138650.

The following evening, Saturday 21st May 2016 there was a burglary at a stable in Tilehurst, Reading, Berkshire where tack has been taken. Prior to this offence a silver van with glass sides was seen hanging around close to the yard. The items stolen included:
An Energiser electric fence generator with silver handles and yellow earthing fork.
A body protector (no further details).
A pair of red PREMIER riding boots.
Ten 6ft rugs (no further details).
Two fly sheets (no further details).
Two 5ft 6” THERMATE rugs.
A brand new WILLIAM FUNNEL rug which is still in packaging.
A black bridle with diamond brow band which is mainly black/red but with some white/blue markings.
Stirrup leathers.
White overreach boots.
Brown Numnah with sheep skin underside.
Black/Gold Numnah.
A black, suede 16IN 'HIGHLIGHT' saddle.
Another black leather saddle.
