Combating Rural Crime

1. RURAL CRIME

A theft has occurred at a yard in Stoke Row Road, Peppard Common, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire overnight between 3rd September and 4th September where a number of items were taken from a field, these were:

A Wolsey BX140 electric fence energiser
2 plastic feed scoops
3 fly masks
2 head collars with lead ropes
A grooming kit
A turnout rug
An Equador Brisbane fly rug
A metal fork
A Karrimor wheelbarrow

If you saw any suspicious activity at this date on this evening or you have seen someone with these items please get in contact on 101.

3. THEFTS FROM EQUESTRIAN PROPERTIES

There have been more thefts from equestrian properties.

During the evening of 26th September a burglary occurred at a farm on Crawley Road, Witney, Oxfordshire and a large quantity of tack has been stolen.Offenders have forced open a portacabin where the tack was stored. A full list of the items stolen is on our Facebook Page.

• Blue fleece rug.
• Leopard print fleece rug.
• A pony bridle with leather reins and snaffle.
• A cradle bridle with bit.
• Leather reins with a snaffle.
• A 5 ½” confidence snaffle.
• A pony size bridle with a 4 1/2” Myler comfort snaffle and Horsemans reins.
• A Paralli country bridle with a Myler snaffle and black Horsemans.
• A cradle bridle with a cradle bit.
• A 6” Jermiah Watts snaffle.
• A Stubben bridle with a 4 ½” Myler comfort snaffle.
• A florescent horse sheet.
• Set of cob size travel boots in blue.
• Box of Cavallo horse boots.
• A set of Finesse reins.
• 42”, 34” and 38” girths which are Aerborn, Wintec and Thourghgood.
• Western tack including breast girth, head stall and reins, a 32” Mohair girth with red centre.
• A 12” pony cub saddle in black with stirrups and girth.
• Small tan coloured, pony size Western saddle.
• A wide Wintec saddle with the name “BROOK” written on the cantle.
• A wide Wintec saddle with the name “WELLI” written on the cantle.
• A 16-17” Wintec saddle
• 10 sets of stirrup leathers and stirrups which are safety stirrups, one set has a blue tread and another a pink tread.

A burglary occurred at a farm in Hanwell, Banbury, Oxfordshire between 19:30 hours 26/09/15 and 08:00 hours 27/09/15 and tack has been stolen. Offenders reversed a vehicle into locked gates in order to gain entry to the land. They then opened unlocked doors to farm buildings and stole a lawn mower and a quantity of tack.

Attempt Theft Of Horse From Stables
Area = Oxfordshire

On Saturday 7 November between 0545 and 0700hrs at Sarsden Lodge Farm, Chipping Norton,Oxfordshire offenders have attempt to steal a horse.

The evening before, the owners of the horse had removed all the horse tack and put the horse in the stables for the night. On Saturday morning between the above times the horse had been prepared and ready to be stolen .

The owner had also plaited the horse’s tail and mane in three places however on inspection only one plait remained. It appears the offenders were either disturbed or changed their mind as the horse was left behind.

Stolen Tack
Area = Oxfordshire

A property at Cornwell in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire has had a tack room broken into over the weekend.

Between midnight and 5am on Sunday 3rd January 2016 entry has been forced to the tack room by attacking the bracket on the door that secures the padlock. An untidy search was then undertaken. Various tack was then stolen by the offender/s.

Did you see anything suspicious around this time?

1. HORSE MEDICATION STOLEN

There have been four incidents of thefts of horse medication in the Faringdon area reported over the last 2 days.Overnight between Tuesday (1/3) and Wednesday (2/3) outbuildings in Baulking, Buckland and Fernham, were broken into.Between 4pm and 9pm yesterday (2/3) a tack room in Hatford was broken into.Offender(s) ignored high value tack items and stole horse medication.

Theft From Stables
Area = Oxfordshire

Between 7.15pm on Friday 8th and 7.30am on Saturday 9th April 2016, offenders have broken into stables in the Over Norton area of Oxfordshire.

Offenders have then stolen hay nets, straw, rugs, horse head collars and a Rutland energizer electric fence battery.

If you saw anything suspicious or have any information that may help with police enquiries please telephone Chipping Norton Neighbourhood Police Team on 101.

Dogwatch No.2004

Again during the same evening (Friday 20th May 2016) a yard in Churn Estate, Blewbury, Didcot, Oxfordshire was broken into, further syringes were stolen as well as a dark blue ACTIVOMED, IMPULSELINE massage rug. Please keep a look out for such an item being sold on and if you have any information call and quote crime reference number 43160138661
