Over recent months there has been an increase in catalytic converter thefts, therefore the local Neighbourhood Policing Teams have teamed up with four garages across South Holland to offer people the chance to protect themselves from theft for free. The idea is to engrave the number plate of the vehicle onto the catalytic converter and this will only take a few minutes.

People who have been victims of this crime before will be given priority, along with those drivers who have 4x4s or vehicles that sit high off the ground.

The local Neighbourhood Policing Teams will be at the following venues.

Tear’s, Bridge Road, Sutton Bridge – February 1, 1pm-4pm
Bush Tyres, Fulney Road, Spalding, – February 1, 1.30pm-4.30pm
Rylatt Ford, Elsoms Way, Pinchbeck – February 2, 1.30pm-4.30pm

If you wish to visit one of the above locations please bring with you, the coupon from the Spalding Guardian dated Monday 23rd January 2012 (only if you have this paper or have it at hand it's not essential), a form of identification ie driving licence and the V5c vehicle document.

It will only take a maximum of 4 minutes per vehicle and booking is not essential (please don't contact the garages).

From Lincs Police
Lincolnshire Horsewatch shared Market Rasen NPT's status update.

Market Rasen NPT

Overnight last night offenders removed fencing to fields which contained horses at Green Lane, Cherry Willingham. Offenders have pulled a large chunk of hair from the mane of one horse and a plait from the mane of a cob also in the field. The horses were covered in dried sweat from running and it is believed offenders chased them around for quite some time in an effort to catch the horses.

Although this attempt was unsuccessful they may return so please be vigilant if you see anyone paying attention to horses in this area at unusual times please call police immediately on 101.

Two males were seen yesterday to drive across the ‘Bunny run’ which is a track which runs between Hawthorn Road and Fiskerton Road, at the side of the field where these horses are kept, in a navy blue Ford Fiesta and park in the corner of the field before leaving the area
