Good News!

Police carried out a raid at a premises in Ditton last Friday seizing drugs in a haul that’s anticipated to be worth more than £250,000.

The warrant was carried out at dawn at a property located off Coldharbour Lane with officers seizing around 3.5kg of suspected cocaine, a significant quantity of skunk thought to be around 2kg in weight and 0.25kg of amphetamine. A large quantity of cash was also recovered, along with a quantity of suspected stolen jewellery.

In addition, officers from the RSPCA attended, with five birds and three dogs seized under welfare grounds.

Following this action, two men were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply. A 30-year-old man has been bailed pending further enquiries until 5 May and a 17 -year-old from West Malling was given a youth reprimand.

Inspector Nicholas Sparkes of Kent Police who co-ordinated the raid, comments: “This area does not have a drugs problem, but what has been identified is the potential for drugs and the associated crime to become an issue if left unchallenged. This activity has been put in place to stop the Class A drugs network taking hold and the impact on people’s quality of life that this can have. Where we receive intelligence about drug dealing we will act upon it swiftly. Anyone with information about illegal drug supply or use can contact Kent Police on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Hi everyone,
Apologies for the lateness of this report but I've had a little 'logging on' issue with the computer!
Firstly Mount Mascal Livery yard in Hoath, Canterbury were burgled over the weekend and suffered a complete clear out of their tack room, estimated loss in excess of £40,000. Those of you that have large yards please make sure you tack room is really well secured and where poss security mark items and advertise the fact they are, this can be the deciding factor if someone is looking to steal items. Property marked things are harder to sell, can be traced back to the owner and this means the police have a victim and can prosecute. Did you know that police forces often have to return items to offenders if we cannot prove they belong to someone else!!

Dear All
My counterpart in South East Kent has asked me to put the message below out just in case one of you spots the gates or they are offered to you.
Kind regards
Phillip, Sussex Horsewatch
This Saturday night (13th) my elderly neighbour who adjoins my fields got burgled, his hand made wooden gates which were believe it or not literally branded all over with my iron postcode TN27 8QT were taken (probably to order) his caravan broken into and various chicken houses broken into. He is of course upset and I would ask if you could pass this info about his gates onto fellow members just in case they get spotted!

Theft of Solar Panel - Sandhurst
Crime Ref: 09-0614

Overnight 8th/9th January, just across the county border into Kent an electric fencing energizer and solar panel was stolen from a field in Sandhurst, but battery left. The electric spring gate was also taken to an empty field but the dividing wire was cut to the horses field. It is suspected that the intruders were disturbed as they didn't make it all the way through.

Theft of electric fence energisers is widespread across the UK, where possible keep the energiser inside a secure building and as far away from the public highway and or footpaths as possible.
