8 December 2013

Hello Erika

As you may be aware myself and Kirstie were the victims of a burglary at Water House Farm, Rowarth on the night of the 4th December.

I'm hoping that you may already have received details of it but if not I thought I would send you a list of everything taken... very depressing... amazing how much stuff lurks in a tack room and you don't know what you have lost until its gone.... a hard learning experience!

This is just my stuff and doesn't include Kirstie's

Also taken was a Landrover Off Roader (found 16-dec-13 https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... 787&type=1 )

Policeman dealing with this is Jonathan Owen 2821 from Glossop but just thought as the Derbyshire Horse Watch person you might also like the information.

I have no evidence to support this but would strongly suspect the person that was in the tack room was horsey and may well have been female as a top shelf was untouched, even though it had some valuable stuff on it, I'm too short to reach it and based on the fact they didn't just load stuff up in the boxes that they were in but sorted through items, they also didn't just tip everything out, were quite tidy and left some items that were not horsey, such as a pair of new Dunlop wellies and non horsey coats yet took a old pair of muck boots that were covered in paint. They also left the breakfast feeds that were mixed for the ponies untouched and left head collars that were hanging outside stable doors. Also they mustn't have electric fencing as left 2 electric fencing boxes and brand new posts untouched but who knows!! Whereas in the top sheds that had the Landrover and Kirstie's stuff they just lifted everything including some shredded rugs that were just around some water carriers to stop them freezing so not selective at all much more "bloke" behaviour.

Anyway in no particular order:

1x wheel barrow, yellow frame with red grips says "Helen's Hipo barrow hands off" in faded marker pen
1x yard brush, heavy duty, red bristles
1x yard brush, yellow and black striped black bristles
1 red/white parelli rope halter
1 parelli genuine rope (swivel brass locking clip) white but grubby, split leather flick at end
2x hanging cheek snaffle with French link 5.5 inch
1x eggbutt snaffle 4.5 inch
1x Neue SchuleTranz Angled Lozenge Beval bit attached to an old bridle with shortened throat lash and laced reins
1 pair blue side reins, clip at one end loop at other black elastic inserts brass buckles
1 pair black side reins rusty buckles
2x brown lunge line with grips
1x white lunge line, very grubby
1x lunging roller, black synthetic with multiple rings
3x blue barrel with black lids feed bins (may still contain happy hoof and balancer pellets)
1x black dustbin used for feed
1x decathalon pessoa type lunging aid
1x Hac tac pair jodhpur boots size 6 brown
1x pair ox blood brown loveson half chaps (stitching coming undone on elastic)
1x harry hall riding hat with bag
1x jockey skull cap (disgusting inside and lining chewed by mice)
1x pair black muckers size 8 nearly new condition
1x pair black muck boots well worn and covered in white paint splatters size 6
Assorted contents of first aid kit, vet wrap, gamgee, animalintex and half used wormer, equamax & eraquell
Green lead rope with Newmarket brass chain coupling
Brand new likits with hanging holders x2 still in wrapping
1 Tesco kettle and 4 stripped mugs plus Nescafe 2 in one instant coffee!
1 6 pack of polos!!
1x weather beater middle weight turnout rug 6', navy blue red binding with red patch on one side over long rip repair
2x JHL middle weight rugs brown with blue over check, 6' and 5'9" one has clip missing on front
1x Burgundy red lightweight JHL 6' one leg strap used as fillet string
1x lightweight weather beater navy blue red binding, very, very muddy at front
1x burgundy lightweight turnout rug 5'9 (make??????)
1x masta lightweight stable rug, burgundy with navy blue check 6'
1x navy blue unbranded lightweight stable rug, only one surcingle and home made darts in front shoulders
1x amigo navy blue stable rug 6' rip at wither metal rings for hood attachment
1 Liveryman rechargeable, grey trimmers in box with charger
1 Liveryman cordless heavy duty clippers in black box with charger, spare battery pack and spare blades
Pair cavallo sport hoof boots size 3, worn tread and worn at toes
1 Barnsby grip pad numnah, black saddle shaped
x2 Lightweight turnout rugs 6' well worn one grey with pink stripe in binding, one all grey, old
1x blue derby house lightweight turnout rug, old, 6'

1 stanely knife
1 pair kitchen scissors
1 galvanised cattle gate 2m
3x galvanised gate posts 2m
1 pair plastic over trousers

Think that might be everything as you can see they pretty much cleaned us out... very depressing!

Many thanks for any help you may be able to provide
Helen

Farm Watcher UK, 2014

HAY BARN BLAZE

Location - Derbyshire
Police are appealing for witnesses after a barn was destroyed in a fire that police believe was started deliberately.
The fire started in a farm building off Main Road, close to Smalley crossroads, at about 7.50pm on Wednesday, September 3.
The barn, which contained hay, took several hours for firefighters to bring under control.
A silver van was also destroyed in the incident, which led to the closure of the road at about 9pm on Wednesday night.
A joint investigation was held by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue and police, and officers believe the blaze was started deliberately.
Police want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area during the evening before the fire.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 37145/14.

8 July 2016

A couple of points that were brought up at the meeting on Wednesday evening;

1. Headcams/Armcams/Chestcams – you name it … I was asked if when an incident is reported to the police, do the police need the full ride or just the incident?
I have spoken to my Sgt and he has advised that we will need to take a working copy of the ride but we will only be interested in the incident and a bit either side to show the lead up to whatever it is that has happened.
2. Microchips – This is a biggie for me!
One of the biggest issues we have when there is a stray or dead horse is that it either does not have a microchip or if it does, it’s not registered to the owner. Please make sure that if you have any type of animal that it is chipped and the chip is registered to you. It saves so many issues should we need to get involved.

If you are unsure of whether your animal is chipped please contact your local vet, if it is equine related your vet again is a good start or you can email me/your local horse watch coordinator for them to assist.
