Red Sombrero, 15.1hh Chestnut TB Gelding, RA57

Post by SarahS27 »

Red Sombrero (stable name Red) is a 15.1hh chestnut TB gelding born in 1989, so he would now be 23 years old. He was freezemarked by Farmkey - RA57.

I sold him in 1994 to a girl in the Banbury area prior to going travelling. I kept in touch with her whilst I was away. I need to venture in the depths of the attic to find some correspondence that I may still have from her as I can't remember her name.

I had Red when his racing career finished. He had a lovely temperament and was good to hack but he could be flighty and needed bringing on. I would love to know what happened to him as I often think about him.

The freezemark isn't associated with any passports on NED but I did find this which looks rather hopeful.

Equine Details - RED SOMBRERO
Date of Birth 11-Apr-1989
Gender Gelding
Colour Chestnut
Height 155cm (15.1hh)
Breed TB
Submitted by Farmkey, Tel: 0870 8707107
(ID Passports do not include Pedigree)
Birth Country Not supplied by PIO

You can kill two birds with one stone, lol. Ring Farmkey up and ask them to check on both freezemark and the passport. They should offer to forward letter to new owners for you.

Hi

Yes I found those details when I searched for him and also noted that his freezemark wasn't associated with him. I had him Freezemarked in 1993 I think so I'm 100% sure he is freezemarked!

I'll give Farmkey a call and see if they can help.

Many thanks.
