After my horse went missing on loan in 2011/12 I've track ed him down.

What's the steps I need to take to take possession of him?

I still have original receipt, passport and loan agreement.

Thank you.

(Hope I've posted in right place)

Do you have a police crime reference or incident number ?
If yes, you need to contact the police again and inform them that you have located your missing horse and ask for their help in recovering him

Also contact your local horsewatch co-ordinator and get them to help you.
If you're not sure who this is, let me know which area you are in ... and which area the horse is in ... and I'll try and help point you in the right direction

Gather together all your paperwork and photos that you may need to help identify your horse and to prove ownership ...
- Receipt of purchase
- Bill of sale
- Registration papers (passport)
- Brand and other identification certificates (such as freezemark/microchip)
- Health records/certificates
- The best and clearest colour photos you have available showing the horse from front, back, near side, off side (preferably untacked and showing all white markings on face and legs)
