These are 2 different locations on the same road that have suffered very similar thefts.

CF0085830315 02-03/03
Brinkley Road, Dullingham, Newmarket
Outbuilding entered and a green quad bike with quad bike sized trailer, petrol chainsaws, a rucksack leaf blower, a red ride on mower, 5x horse rope head collars, and a saddle stolen.

CF0084930315 02-03/03
Brinkley Road, Dullingham, Cambridge
Padlocks removed from outbuilding and the offender/s have stolen a Kawasaki in green quad bike with cement blocks on the back tied on to add weight to the rear of the bike and also a John Deere silver trailer attached to the quad bike.

A yard on Aldreth Road, Haddenham has had an attempted break in last night, 4th – 5th March, the offenders have jumped over the gate and cut the padlocks to the tack room and feed room. Nothing seems to be stolen at this time.
A vehicle was seen parked in the gate way of the yard at 1945hrs by a neighbouring property, but no further description of the vehicle.

Please be on your guard as I seem to be sending these messages a bit too frequently in the last week or so.

Tack room theft where the tack room was not locked. Please take precautions as you never know if / when you will be targeted. Some simple security devices are available and at very low cost now days. Or even better, take the tack home.

CF0103300315 12-13/03
High Street, Whittlesford, Cambridge
Forced entry into a porta cabin on the farm and caused damage, but also entered the unlocked tack room and stole a brown pony size saddle with a black girth and regular metal stirrups, along with a brown bridle with a Dutch gag bit attached.

Trailers have been a regular item stolen recently but it’s been mainly the flat bed and vehicle trailers. Please be on your guard as the horse trailer thefts seem to be increasing.

CF0102010315 19/12/2014 – 14/03/2015
High Street, Little Shelford, Cambridge
Theft of an Ifor Williams HB505 black and silver horse trailer. Serial number SCK40000065019780 and there is a dent which has been pushed out on the nearside above the jockey door. The trailer was stored at a farm at the above location.

GREAT NEWS FROM CAMBRIDGESHIRE POLICE

On 11 April Cambridgeshire Police were notified of a Tracker activation on a stolen quad bike from the Essex area. Police attended the source of the activation in Newbridge Lane, Gorefield and located the bike, along with a stolen Range Rover and Kawasaki motorcycle inside a HGV.
The driver of the lorry has been arrested in relation to the thefts.
Again this highlights the benefit of fitting tracking devices to high value vehicles!

It’s been very quiet in Cambridgeshire recently and then I find this has been reported to us. Large tack theft, please see the detail below. Other surrounding forces have been suffering but we have been lucky up until now.Where possible try not to leave property at the yard. Yards that are not lived at and additional security measures added are more vulnerable.

In the stable area four storage rooms have been jemmied open and items of tack including saddles, bridles, dressage boots, and protective wear has been taken, amounting to around £4200.00.
Fairfax black leather close contact dressage saddle.
Ideal GP black synthetic saddle.
Brown GP synthetic saddle with a broken girth strap which has been mended.
3x black and 3x brown leather bridles with various bits.
Point 2 air jacket body protector black.

The below is the latest theft that has taken place on an equine yard. Again it’s in the South Cambridgeshire area. Please report any suspicious behaviour with as much detail as you can get to us via 101 so we can start to build a picture up of may be responsible for these thefts.

CF0197600515 18-19/05
Haslingfield, Cambridge
Unknown person/s have entered a stable yard by forcing the gate lock and removed / stolen 40x wooden posts and a post whacker. Other items seemed to have been left ready for collection but may be the offender/s were disturbed and did not come back.

CC-19052015-0182 1110hrs
Also 2 Asian males have been seen in the lorry park of an equestrian centre in the Huntingdon / St Ives area yesterday, but the same males have been seen before 3 weeks ago on another competition day. The males seemed to be looking at the Lorries and vehicles in the car park. No vehicles were broken into but the informant believed it was their intention. Please take some simple security precautions of locking up your vehicle or lorry when unattended, don’t leave things outside the vehicle, put them back in the vehicle, and report any suspicious behaviour to us on 101 or a crime in progress use 999.

===

Two further thefts in the county of batteries and electric fence units. Try and keep these items hidden as best you can. Electric fencing cannot be hidden so it’s obvious that there will be an electric fence unit with a battery to power it. Try keeping at the furthest point and cover the flashing lights up with some tape as these lights can be seen from a distance in the dark. Any other suggestions would be gratefully received.

CF0200780515 20/05 @ 1900 hrs
Cow Fen Drove, Swavesey, Cambridge
Items left hidden in the bushes of the paddock have been stolen. 200-300mts of wire horse fencing, 1 solar electric fence charger unit and an energiser electric fence unit.

CF0200150515 20/05 between 0930-2040hrs
Easton Road, Easton, Huntingdon
Theft of 3 vehicle type batteries from the horse paddocks that were being used to power the electric fencing.
