I have been away for a couple of weeks on leave and was pleased I have only found one equine related theft on my return. There were a few incidents that took place at Equifest, where horses and ponies had been purposely damaged in some way, i.e. forelocks cut off, which is not playing very fairly and I was very disappointed to see this from a normally very strong and close knit community.

An incident has happened in Cooks Lane, Sawtry, Huntingdon sometime during the night of Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd Oct. Person/s had cut through the heavy duty padlock on the gate and driven a vehicle through the field, breaking some further wooden fencing. Unfortunately the horses within the field escaped, but were caught and are unharmed. There have been a few fuel thefts in this area and we are aware of the offender/s driving across fields to gain access to fuel tanks, and one fuel bowser within this area that night had £1000 worth of red diesel stolen.
