Dear Farm Watch members
please be aware there is a report of theft of 10ft metal gate which has been lifted off of its hinges in the area of Wellow between the 7th and 8th of December.

Field gate hinges should be of the capped or inverted type to prevent easy removal.
Mark gates to make them unique to your farm.
Gates that are locked with good quality chains or padlocks are more difficult to steal.
Make regular checks to see if they have been tampered with. If you believe they have been tampered with, contact your local police via 101, the 24-hour Police non-emergency number.

12 January 2015 - Email 1

Message from PC Finbar Simmons

Please be extra vigilant, we have had reports of a horse being found with its mane plaited in the Frampton Cotterell area.
We believe that this could be the method used to identify horses prior to being stolen.
Please review your security and ensure that Horses are marked/branded and/or any specific identification details recorded.

12 January 2015 - Email 2

PC Finbar Simmons

We have had an incident of an attack on a flock of sheep in Church Lane, Winterbourne, resulting in 3 being injured.
We believe that a large dog was involved in the attack.
Please be vigilant, if noting anything suspicious please call the Police on the 101 number.

19 January 2015

Over the past week we have had a couple of shed/outbuildings/building sites breaks whereby padlocks have been snapped and tools have been taken. Only a few tools on each occasion have been taken suggesting the offender(s) were on foot.

Recently we attended a break in at a farm in the Chipping Sodbury area where by a padlock to a large outbuilding had been snapped; however an alarm sounding had disturbed them. In the outbuilding was a quantity of fuel. We have no specific times however the farm alarm sounded at 23:20.
