[RINGMASTER COMMUNITY MESSAGING - NORTH SOMERSET - JN1171]

Hi This is Pen Gatenby from Horsewatch.

Over the last couple of weeks there have been shed/garage breaks in the Frost Hill end of Yatton targeting power tools.
We have just received reports that over the last few days a stable yard in Yatton has had two rows of fencing cut on one side and barbed wire twisted together on the road side. One CCTV camera looks like it had been hit with a rock, a PIR on the automatic lights had been dismantled. Also, they have tried to force their way into the main barn area. The door is badly damaged but managed to hold them back.

Please be vigilant and make sure all tack and power tools are not left at your stables.

Any information please contact the 101 number.

[RINGMASTER COMMUNITY MESSAGING - SOMERSET WEST - G0362 13052014]

G0362 13052014

This message is sent to schemes across Somerset at the request of our CID officers.

There has been a spate of incidents where victims have been contacted by telephone by unknown persons purporting to be police officers. The victims are given various stories but essentially they are being asked to either provide bank details, or to obtain cash from their bank. In particular this cash is then being collected by taxi drivers and ferried to London.

One incident that occurred recently in Somerset came to light because the taxi driver was suspicous about the package he was asked to collect and take to London. He opened the package to find several thousand pounds in cash and immediately called the police.

Police wish to emphasise that they would never contact people by telephone and ask for their bank details, or for them to take cash from their bank. Likewise organisations such as banks, utilities etc would never ask for such information.

Please remind members that they should never give any personal details to strangers over the phone, by Email/internet or at the door. It is important that vulnerable members of our communities are reminded of this.

If you have any suspicions surrounding matters of his type of incident please ensure that you contact the police straight away on the 101 number, or if you think it is an emergency situation, call 999.

[RINGMASTER COMMUNITY MESSAGING - NORTH SOMERSET - JN1173]

Hi this is Pen Gatenby from Horsewatch. Between 7pm on Monday 12th May and 7am on Tuesday 13th May unknown offenders have entered a field on Woodlane, Congresbury via a footpath and searched the storage units and area for portable items to steal. The following items were stolen:
A hotline fencer and battery and a shrike fencer - both units had been painted by the owner and are identifiable to HRL
12 x 6ft fence posts
The remaining fence posts had all the tape removed as if the thieves were to return at a later stage.
If you have any information please contact the police on the 101 number reference 48001/14.

Hi this is Pen Gatenby from Horse and Farm Watch. In the village of Wrington, North Somerset during the hours of darkness from 4th - 5th June 2014 a new galvanized steel gate was lifted from its hinges and moved into the field towards the road. It appears as though unknown offenders were attempting to steal the gate and were either disturbed or the weather was too poor to continue. Please be vigilant and ensure all your gates are secured with locks, chains and the hinges are secured.
Thank you.
