[RINGMASTER COMMUNITY MESSAGING - NORTH SOMERSET - JN1140]

Hi this is Pen Gatenby from Horsewatch.

Yesterday morning, 18th March, a horse in Portishead was found in the paddock with its rug removed. The back and belly straps of the rug were still done up but the front straps were undone. The other horse's rug had not been tampered with. This could have been someone checking the horse, attempting to steal the rug or the horse taking the rug of itself. Whatever the reason please be vigilant and ensure your rugs are all marked clearly to prevent theft.

Thank you.

Hi this is Pen Gatenby from Horsewatch. There has been a report of a metal bath (used as a water trough) being stolen from a field in Thor Hill, Portishead during the day on 24th April 2013. At the moment metal is a high value commodity and even a water trough can be stolen. These crimes are very difficult to detect as no one would question anyone removing baths, gates or the like if they appear to be the owners. Even if vehicle tracks or footprints are left at the scene without a vehicle regisitration, description of persons or CCTV there is normally no further leads for enquiries. Please secure all gates or metal equipment as much as you can making these kinds of thefts more difficult for the Perpetrators. Thank you.

[RINGMASTER COMMUNITY MESSAGING - NORTH SOMERSET - JN1474]
