Shoreham horse attack - woman arrested
09 March 2016
Police investigating a report that six horses had their tails and manes cut at Buddy's Yard under the Shoreham flyover in January have made an arrest.
A 24-year-old woman from Hove has been arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, attempted blackmail and sending a malicious message. She has been questioned and released on bail for further enquiries until 26 April.
The incident happened sometime overnight from Friday 29 January until Saturday 30 January in Steyning Road, Shoreham. Four of the horses were in a field and two were in a stable. None of the horses were hurt.
Police are still appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information should contact police by emailing 101 AT sussex.pnn.police.uk or ring 101 quoting serial 554 of 30/01.

21 March 2016

I have received a request from the control center of Sussex Police asking if any member on the A272 at Ansty, Haywards Heath. They have received a couple of calls from members of the public that somewhere opposite Beacon Fencing Company, close to the cross roads of Bishopstone Lane and Pickwell lane it is reported that there is a horse in a fields that appears to be dead horse. If you know of this event and have any information as to the owner please call Sussex Police on the non emergency number 101 and quote CAD 0819 and 1063 of today's date.

I have been asked by a land owner who has had what they describe as two yearling trotting ponies dumped on their land.

The land owner is not interested in them and just wants rid of them off the land. I am told that them appear to be very wild and it would probably be best to have them tranquilized to get them loaded and transported. The land owner tells me that they are Chestnut or Bay in colour.

The land owner does not want to be involved in any expenditure so whoever takes them will have to pay for tranquilizing (and of course vets fees) and transportation costs.

Before you get carried away this is a long term project probably better suited to someone who owns land, as stated they are yearlings so it will be another three years before they can be broken. It is suspected that they are not micro-chipped and do not have passports.

Once a prospective "new owner" has been selected the land owner will put a 96 hours order on the ponies (see regulations below)

If you are seriously interested in these ponies please send me an email with your contact details in the first instance and I will liaise with the land owner.
