West Mercia Police Alert – Harvington
POLICE REF: 0172S071217
BURGLARY AT BARNS: LEYS ROAD, HARVINGTON.
Between 2000 6/12/17 & 0730 7/12/17 persons unknown have broken into barns and have stolen a number of working dogs; A black & white Collie, 2 yellow Labradors, a Patterdale bitch, a Jack Russell bitch and a Cocker Spaniel. The dogs age range of dogs from 7 months to 6 years. Offenders also stole horse tack 5/6 bridles, 5 saddles, bits and Honda generators and quad bikes.

Please be vigilant, if you see dogs matching these descriptions offered for sale under suspicious circumstances or have any information that can help the polic with their enquiries please call 101 and ask for West Mercia Police, quoting the crime reference number 0172S071217

Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Animal Specialist Team Help Horse at Ansty

Warks Fire & Rescue Specialist Animal Team Help Again:
On the 14th December, Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service received an emergency call at 17:18 reporting a horse which was stuck in a brook on Grove Road in Ansty. One fire engine from Bedworth and the specialist animal rescue team from Rugby Fire Station were mobilised. The incident involved a horse which was stranded in a brook with a depth of five metres. Crews worked alongside a vet and used specialist large animal rescue equipment to extricate the horse safely. The horse was released at 18:55. We are so lucky to have this specialist team, well done to everyone involved. 🙂

Tack and Equipment Taken in Studley

During the night of 18 into 19 December, offenders cut through a chain on the gate of a premises in Bromsgrove Road, Studley and then broke into a stable block. Once inside, the offenders stole 3 saddles, a petrol generator, ropes, rugs, bridles and a small television. If you saw anything or have any information that could help the police with their enquiries please call 101 and refer to inc 35 of 19/12/17.

Foal Rescued From Flood Water in Brandon

On 31st December, the specialist animal rescue crew from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service responded to an emergency call at 14.42 hours to move a foal stranded in flood water in a field to higher ground. Upon arrival the foal was found to be in flood water in a field on Brandon Lane. Crews used an inflatable walkway to lead the foal to safety. The foal was uninjured.

Suspicious Circumstances Reported in Long Marston

A horse was reported loose on the road in Long Marston on the 15th January and was safely caught by a member of the public and returned to its owner and field with the officers who attended.

Concern was raised as to how the horse had got onto the road as a number of items had been moved within the field.

If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this date please call 101 and refer to inc 24 of 15/1/18.

Please be vigilant, review your security and report any suspicious activity to the police.

Horse Rescued in Austrey

At 1729 hours, Friday 23rd February, Fire Control received a call to a Shire horse trapped in a hole. A fire crew from Polesworth and the specialist Large Animal Rescue Unit from Rugby attending. Crews confirmed upon arrival that one female Shire horse was trapped by her rear legs in a hole. The Vet was in attendance advising crews. Upon arrival of the Large Animal Rescue Unit steady progress was being made with releasing of the horse. At 1850 hours, Fire Crews had released the horse and will be detained a further fifteen minutes.

Cubbington - Attempt Theft of Horse - Incident 82 of 14-MAR-2018

Between 1845hrs Tuesday 13-MAR-2018 and 0830hrs Wednesday 14-MAR-2018 unknown offender(s) attempted to steal a horse from a livery yard/riding school in the Cubbington area. A disturbance was heard during the early hours of the 14-MAR-2018. The horse was found running loose in a field.

Radford Semele - Suspicious Circumstances

Date: 16/06/2018

Between 17:00hrs Thursday 14-JUN-2018 and 09:00hrs Friday 15-JUN-2018 unknown offender(s) cut a miniature Shetland ponies mane. The incident took place at a farm near Valley Road, Radford Semele. It is believed offender(s) used a knife to cut the mane.

Attempted Theft of Horse Trailer in Arley - North Warwickshire

Suspicious Circumstances, Arley

Incident number: 101 of 4/8/18
Date: 03/08/2018 - 04/08/2018

Some time between 22.00 hrs on 3/8/18 and 08.00 hrs this morning (4/8/18) unknown offender(s) entered a field in Arley and removed the wheel lock from a secured Ifor Williams trailer. An attempt was made to remove the hitch lock and although damage was caused to the trailer they were unsuccessful.
